Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 Crosses ₹424 Crore Worldwide, Beats Dhurandhar 2 Record
Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has crossed ₹424 crore worldwide in just four days, outperforming Dhurandhar 2 in overseas opening collections. With strong Sunday earnings, the film is now set for its next box office test.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 crossed the ₹400 crore mark in worldwide box office collections within just four days of its release. The film witnessed a significant jump in earnings on Sunday, taking its worldwide gross collection to approximately ₹424.25 crore.
According to a report by Sacnilk, Jailer 2 collected ₹55.85 crore net in India on its fourth day, Sunday. With this, its total domestic net collection reached ₹199.90 crore, while its gross collection in India stood at ₹234.25 crore. The film earned approximately ₹190 crore from overseas markets, taking its worldwide gross collection to ₹424.25 crore.
The film’s Sunday earnings were 18.2 per cent higher than its Saturday collection. Jailer 2 opened with ₹59.70 crore on its first day, before its earnings declined to ₹37.10 crore on Friday. However, the film regained momentum over Saturday and Sunday, strengthening its box office performance during the opening weekend.
Jailer 2 has also overtaken Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge in overseas opening collections. Among Indian films released in 2026, Jailer 2 has recorded the biggest overseas opening. It earned approximately ₹57 crore from international markets on its first day, compared with ₹52 crore collected by Dhurandhar 2.
However, Dhurandhar 2 had continued to perform strongly in overseas markets after its opening. The film earned million, or more than ₹240 crore, in North America, surpassing the record previously held by Baahubali 2 in the region.
With its worldwide collection crossing ₹424 crore in just four days, Jailer 2 has established a strong opening-weekend performance. The key challenge now is whether Rajinikanth’s film can maintain its box office momentum worldwide beyond the initial weekend and sustain its lead over competing Indian releases.
